Convention: UK’s draft report on implementing CRPD out for public comment

Posted 19/5-11 at 01.55

The United Nations asks all countries that have ratified the Convention to submit a progress report after two years. In accordance with this, on May 16th, the Office for Disability Issues (ODI) released a draft report on the UK's implementation of the United Nations (UN) Convention on Rights for Disabled People, since July 2009.

They have invited comments from disabled people and their organisations. Evidence can also be submitted directly to the UN. The deadline is June 20th.

The ODI is currently developing a cross-government Disability Strategy which will identify how the Convention will be implemented in the future.
